Our community is threatened by recent presidential executive orders which put faculty, staff and students at risk of deportation and arbitrary detention. Our employer, the UC, has thus far remained silent on whether they plan to cooperate with ICE and local law enforcement. After recent political deportations at Columbia, and ongoing threats to immigrants (both documented and undocumented) across the country, the matter is ever more pressing.
